Working on Whittier Horror Novel

Hi Everyone!

I know that being busy is no excuse to not write in one’s blog, but that’s the only excuse I have. I’ve been writing every night on my upcoming horror novel, Whittier. This story is based on a real town in Alaska called Whittier, and this place is definitely spooky. It was founded in World War II by the U.S. military, and in order to get to it more easily, they blasted a 2.5 mile tunnel through the surrounding mountains.

To this day, they have never widened that initial tunnel, so every hour on the hour between sometime in the morning and 11PM, they open the tunnel for like 5 minutes to cars leaving Whittier. At quarter past the hour, they let cars in, and for the rest of the time, they have trains scheduled to enter and leave Whittier. If you miss the 11PM tunnel out of Whittier…you have to spend the night.

There’s more stuff about this town that helped inspire my novel, but I’m gonna save that for later. Suffice to say, in my book, the main character does NOT make it out in time to leave Whittier one night. Want to know what happens next? Stay tuned…and have a great day!
